The A-Frame futon is one of the most space efficient futons around. When you purchase the A-Frame futon full size you will have a loveseat by day and a full size bed by night that sleeps two. The twin size A-Frame futon allows you to sleep only one person and takes up the space of a large club chair.
Remember to purchase the correct mattress for the A-Frame so that the mattress cascades over the back. In general, futon mattresses without foam or with one layer of foam that are between 3" to 7" thick will work with your new A-Frame futon frame. However, when in doubt, please call us.
How the A-Frame Works
The A-frame futon has three separate sections, which is why it is sometimes called a "tri-fold futon." Tri-fold futons are often made of thin pine wood, whereas our A-Frame futons are made of 100% hardwood. Rest assured that your futon frame will always do its job.
A-frame futons have four hinges that allow the three sections to fold up like an accordion. One section of the A-Frame futon forms the seat, while the middle section forms the back. The last section folds up neatly behind the back making a compact futon loveseat or chair.
When you want to form a bed, you simply hold the first slat under the seat and walk backwards. Now you have easily converted your A-Frame from a loveseat or chair to a futon bed.

We recommend you consider a futon mattress that is 3"- 7" thick and is easily bendable.
