Fusion Velotec Futon Mattress Details
The Fusion Velotec futon mattress is the one of the best futon mattresses money can buy. This futon mattress comes with a 16 year warranty and is one of the softest yet most supportive futon mattresses in the futon industry.
Futon Technology
The all new Fusion Velotec futon is light years ahead of most other futon mattresses that are still hard, lumpy and heavy. The Fusion is light as and still responsive and full of a welcoming cushion you will immediately start to love.
When it comes to comfort, longevity, plushness and support there is no other futon mattress that can compare--regardless of price. This is due to the perfect harmony the core shares with the outer layers.
At the very core, the Fusion Velotec futon mattress has a section of super elastic foam high loft specialty foam. This foam is fused to two high compression sections of responsive 1.8 density foam giving the mattress loft and spring. The core and its outer layers are then wrapped with soft and responsive high quality polyester fibers creating a surface creating a cushion that is years ahead of its time.

Do Your Futon Mattress Homework
It is unfortunate that consumers would be led astray into thinking that initial thickness is indicative of a quality futon mattress. It would seem to make sense and is an easy sell for sales people preying on the ignorance of unsuspecting customers, but sadly, thickness is not, in its own right, an indicator of quality, comfort or longevity. Many futon mattress have an initial thickness that quickly is deflated by continuous use. Permanent loft is nearly unattainable a world where physics almost always has the last laugh. This is because a futon mattress manufacturer could start off with 24 inches of cotton material, compress it lightly under insufficient loads and then package and label it for a consumer telling you they are selling an 8 inch, 10 inch, or even 12 inch futon mattress.
Do not be sold on thickness alone. Ask your retail futon sales person how many layers are in your futon. Also, ask about compression, the amount of material, kind of materials, and over-all construction process of the futon mattress you are considering. Remember too, that in the futon industry, a "hand-made" futon mattress might have been hand stuffed like a potato sack by a laborer in a wareshouse somewhere. Hand made is often not indicative of quality and can represent the most primitive method of futon mattress construction. Consumers should look for high compression futons and preferably futons that were machine loaded for evenness and over-all long-term reliability.
