Simmons Slumber Rest Futon Mattress
The Simmons Slumber Rest futon mattress is an upgrade from the Comfort Rest. It is both thicker and mores supportive than the Comfort Rest. Although, it has about 30% more cotton fill than the Comfort Rest, and even though it contains 2 extra fiber cores, the Slumber Rest gets a luxury rating of only one rocket.
The Slumber rest is a mattress that is suitable for use on a tri-fold futon frame, however, if you have a metal futon frame, we strongly recommend upgrading to a more substantial mattress. The Simmons Ortho Rest is a sure improvement to the Slumber Rest, but as always, Futon Planet recommends you invest as much as you can in a futon mattress.

In terms of the comfort rating above we think it is important to note that this mattress is strongly influenced by the surface upon which it is placed. If you put this mattress over a futon frame with metal bars, it is quite likely that you will begin to feel the bars through the mattress at some point. If you are using this futon mattress on a platform bed, the mattress will be more similar to a traditional futon mattress and feel quite firm.
It does have an initial give to it, however, that helps to reduce an impact the body might experience as you move around during the night while you sleep. If at all possible, consider upgrading to a better mattress. We recommend the Ortho Rest futon mattress as a logical and insignificant cost upgrade to the Simmons Slumber Rest. Both futon mattresses are Simmons brand.
