Simmons Ortho Rest Futon Mattress
The Simmons Ortho Rest comes with a 5 year manufacturer's warranty and 8.5 inches thick. The Ortho rest is a medium firm futon mattress. It is important to remember that a futon mattress tends to be firmer by nature than traditional mattresses. When we say a futon is medium or medium firm, to some this might feel more like very firm.

Still the Ortho Rest is a good entry level quality futon mattress that is easily three-four times more supportive than the basic Comfort Rest futon mattress. It is also a good deal thicker than the Comfort Rest and more supportive than the Slumber Rest. The thickness of 8.5 inches will compress to some degree and the total loft will depend on various factors including the amount of use the cushion receives.
Whenever possible, we recommend to those who will be sleeping on a futon mattress, to invest as much as they can afford. However, for those on a very tight budget, we recommend the this Ortho Rest over the Comfort Rest or Slumber Rest and hope you can afford the extra cost of this mattress as it is considered more comfortable for the average user over a longer period of time.
Remember that your Ortho Rest must be given time to breath and expand over the next several days of receiving it. As air flow interacts with this mattress the fibers will separate and the mattress will increase in loft from the time you initially receive the futon. Trust us, it will expand!
